EYHA is a proud supporter of USA Hockey's SafeSport Program. All EYHA Board members, Coaches and locker room monitors are required to complete the program (including background checks). EYHA encourages all parents to familiarize themselves with the program. The program is provided free of charge to parents and volunteers. Please click on the link below for further information. 

WHO needs SafeSport?

• All EYHA Board members, coaches and team managers / locker room monitors must complete SafeSport.  (SafeSport is NOT needed for penalty box, scorekeeper or timekeeper volunteers).

How often?

• SafeSport must be updated each year.

WHO HAS TO GET SCREENED? 

• All adult coaches, officials, board members, employees, volunteers, and anyone else who will have regular contact with, or authority over, athletes under the age of 18 are required to submit to a background screen before any such contact with those athletes

WHAT DOES IT COST? 

• Background screens through:  NCSI under the national program will cost $30 for all domestic screens. This cost is NOT covered by EYHA.

HOW LONG DOES SCREENING TAKE?

• On average, background screens take between 3-10 business days to complete.
